🍚 Air Fryer Rice Pudding (Serves 2–3)

🍚 Air Fryer Rice Pudding (Serves 2–3)

🧺 Ingredients

½ cup short-grain rice (pudding rice or arborio works best)

2 cups milk (whole milk is creamiest, but any milk works)

2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)

½ tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

Small pinch of salt

1 tbsp butter (optional, for extra richness)

Optional toppings: raisins, nutmeg, fruit, honey, or jam

🍳 Equipment

Oven-safe dish that fits in your air fryer
(ceramic, glass, or metal—about 1–1.5 liter size)

Foil

🔥 Instructions

Rinse the rice
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear. This helps prevent gumminess.

Mix everything
In your oven-safe dish, add:

Rice

Milk

Sugar

Vanilla

Cinnamon

Salt
Stir well.

Cover
Cover the dish tightly with foil. This stops the milk from drying out or burning.

First cook

Air fry at 160°C / 320°F for 30 minutes

Stir
Carefully remove, stir well (scrape the bottom), then re-cover with foil.

Second cook

Return to air fryer at 160°C / 320°F for another 20–25 minutes

Final check

Rice should be soft

Mixture should be thick and creamy
If it’s too thick, stir in a splash of milk.
If it’s too thin, cook uncovered for 5 more minutes.

Rest
Let it sit for 5 minutes—it thickens as it cools.
