Air Fryer Pita Pizza by Tracy

Ingredients
For the Base:
1 pita bread (white or whole wheat)
1 tablespoon pizza sauce
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil
Toppings (Optional):
7 slices pepperoni (or more, to taste)
1/4 cup cooked sausage
1 tablespoon thinly sliced yellow or brown onion
1/2 teaspoon minced fresh garlic

Instructions
1. Assemble the Pizza
Lay the pita bread flat on a plate or cutting board.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface using the back of a spoon.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Add your favorite toppings like pepperoni, sausage, onions, or garlic.
Drizzle a small amount of olive oil over the assembled pizza for added flavor.
2. Prepare the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 2-3 minutes.
Place a short stainless steel trivet inside the air fryer basket (this helps keep the toppings in place).
3. Cook the Pizza
Carefully place the assembled pita pizza on top of the trivet.
Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the pita are crispy.
4. Serve
Use tongs to carefully remove the pizza from the air fryer.
Let cool for a minute, then slice into wedges and serve warm
