(Serves 4–6)

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional, for classic Philly flavor)
  • 8 oz thinly sliced beef (ribeye, sirloin, or even steak strips)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tube crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 4 oz provolone or American cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer
    • Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Cook the filling
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add sliced onions (and bell peppers if using) and sauté until soft, ~5 minutes.
    • Add sliced beef, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
    • Cook for 3–5 minutes until beef is just cooked through. Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the crescent ring
    • Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
    • On a piece of parchment or directly in your air fryer basket, arrange triangles in a circle, points facing outward, forming a “sunburst” or ring.
    • Place cheese in the center of the ring, then top with the beef and onion mixture.
  4. Fold the ring
    • Fold the points of the triangles over the filling, tucking under the dough at the base to create a sealed ring.
    • Brush the dough with melted butter if desired for a golden finish.
  5. Air fry
    • Carefully transfer the ring (with parchment if using) into the air fryer basket.
    • Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked.
    • Check after 10 minutes to ensure it’s not overbrowning.
  6. Serve
    • Let cool for 2–3 minutes, slice into wedges, and enjoy!

Tips for Air Fryer Success

  • Avoid overcrowding: Make sure the ring fits comfortably; if your air fryer is small, cook in two batches.
  • Even browning: Rotate halfway through cooking if your air fryer heats unevenly.
  • Cheese melt: Cover loosely with foil for 3–4 minutes if cheese isn’t fully melted by the end.
