(Serves 2–3)
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef liver, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for low-carb)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp paprika (optional, for flavor)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or lemon wedges
Instructions
- Prep the liver
- Rinse liver slices and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Preheat air fryer
- Preheat to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Cook the onions
- Toss sliced onions with 1 tsp olive oil, a pinch of salt, and black pepper.
- Spread in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 5–6 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.
- Remove and set aside.
- Cook the liver
- Lightly brush the remaining olive oil on the air fryer basket or use parchment paper.
- Arrange liver slices in a single layer.
- Air fry at 375°F for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway, until lightly browned but still tender inside.
- Tip: Liver cooks quickly—overcooking makes it tough.

- Toss liver with the cooked onions gently.
- Garnish with parsley or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
- Serve immediately with mashed potatoes, rice, or a green side salad.
