Air Fryer Tuna Cakes

Ingredients:
- 2 cans of tuna, drained (about 12 ounces total)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or your preferred seafood seasoning)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray or oil for the air fryer basket
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, celery, red bell pepper, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4-6 portions, depending on the size of tuna cakes you want. Shape each portion into a patty or cake.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for a few minutes.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the tuna cakes in the greased basket, ensuring there is some space between them.
- Cook the tuna cakes in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. The exact cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer, so keep an eye on them. They should be golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Once the tuna cakes are done, carefully remove them from the air fryer using a spatula.
- Serve the air fryer tuna cakes hot with your favorite dipping sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
