ULTRAMEL SCONES

Ultramel scones are a rich, soft, and slightly indulgent twist on traditional scones, made extra special with the creamy sweetness of Ultramel (a popular caramel-flavored dairy dessert). These scones come out fluffy on the inside with a lightly golden exterior, and they carry a subtle caramel flavor that makes them perfect for breakfast, tea time, or even dessert. They’re incredibly easy to make and don’t require complicated techniques, which makes them a great option whether you’re baking for guests or creating cozy food content.

What really sets these scones apart is the moisture and flavor that Ultramel adds to the dough. Unlike classic scones that can sometimes be dry, these stay soft and tender, with just the right amount of sweetness. You can enjoy them plain, drizzle them with extra caramel sauce, or serve them with butter and jam for a balanced bite. They also pair beautifully with coffee or tea, making them perfect for a relaxed afternoon treat.

Another great thing about Ultramel scones is how customizable they are. You can add chocolate chips, raisins, or even a hint of cinnamon to elevate the flavor. Whether you’re keeping it simple or adding your own twist, these scones are guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser with their soft texture and rich caramel taste.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/2 cup Ultramel
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk (if needed)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add the cold butter and rub it into the flour using your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and Ultramel.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix to form a soft dough. Add a little milk if the dough feels too dry.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it just a few times (don’t overwork it).
  7. Pat the dough down to about 2–3 cm thickness and cut into rounds or triangles.
  8. Place the scones on the prepared tray and brush the tops with a little milk or egg wash.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly and serve warm, optionally with butter or an extra drizzle of Ultramel.
