Air Fryer Pizza Subs

Ingredients:

4 hot dog buns or small sub rolls

½ cup pizza sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

16–20 pepperoni slices

¼ cup diced bell peppers or onions (optional)

1 tsp olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions:

Prepare the Buns:

Slice the buns open lengthwise (without cutting all the way through). Brush lightly with olive oil to help them crisp up.

Add the Sauce:

Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce inside each bun.

Add Toppings:

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then layer with pepperoni slices. Add any optional toppings like peppers or onions.

Preheat the Air Fryer:

Set the air fryer to 180°C (356°F) and preheat for 2 minutes.

Cook the Pizza Subs:

Place the prepared buns in the basket (without overcrowding). Air fry for 5–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the buns are golden brown.

Serve:

Remove carefully, let cool slightly, and enjoy warm with a side of marinara or ranch for dipping.

Tips:

You can use garlic butter on the buns for an extra flavor boost.

Try swapping pepperoni for ham, sausage, or mushrooms for variety.

Don’t overfill the buns — this keeps them from getting soggy.
