This Mushroom Swiss Burger Bowl brings together juicy seasoned beef, sautéed mushrooms, and melted Swiss cheese served over crisp lettuce with fresh toppings. It delivers classic burger flavor in a low-carb, gluten-free bowl that works perfectly for quick weeknight dinners or meal prep….
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
1 cup sliced mushrooms (cremini or white mushrooms)
4 slices Swiss cheese
2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
1/4 cup sliced pickles
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: burger sauce or garlic aioli
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil or butter.
2. Form the ground beef into two burger patties and season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
3. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 4–5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
4. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until they soften and become lightly golden.
5. Place Swiss cheese slices over the burger patties during the final minute so the cheese melts smoothly.
6. Add chopped lettuce to two serving bowls to create the base.
7. Slice the cooked burger patties into strips and place them over the lettuce.
8. Top with sautéed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, red onion slices, and pickles.
9. Drizzle with keto burger sauce or garlic aioli if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Use freshly grated or sliced Swiss cheese for smoother melting.
Cook mushrooms until most of their moisture evaporates to keep the bowl from becoming watery.
For meal prep, store the cooked beef and mushrooms separately from the fresh vegetables.
Add avocado slices for additional healthy fats if desired.
