  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the roast on all sides over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the roast and place it in a Dutch oven or roasting pan.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions until they are caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
  6. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
  7. Pour the caramelized onions over the roast.
  8. In a bowl, mix beef broth, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over the roast.
  9. Cover and bake in the oven for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  10. Serve with garnished thyme or rosemary.
