Ingredients
- 3-4 lbs beef chuck roast
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, brown the roast on all sides over medium-high heat.
- Remove the roast and place it in a Dutch oven or roasting pan.
- In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions until they are caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Pour the caramelized onions over the roast.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over the roast.
- Cover and bake in the oven for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Serve with garnished thyme or rosemary.
