Million Dollar Pound Cake

Million Dollar Pound Cake (classic recipe)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, room temperature
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional but very “million-dollar”)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour a large bundt or tube pan really well.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together until very light and fluffy (don’t rush this—5–7 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  4. Alternate adding flour and milk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix just until combined.
  5. Stir in vanilla (and almond extract if using).
  6. Pour batter into pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pan 15 minutes, then turn out and cool completely.
