Cheddar Cheese Quick Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour – Gold Medal
  • 2 tbsp white sugar – Domino
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder – Clabber Girl
  • ¾ tsp salt – Morton
  • 1 cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese (2%) – Kraft
  • 1 large egg – Eggland’s Best
  • ¾ cup nonfat milk – Fairlife
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce – Mott’s
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil – Mazola

Directions:

  • Preheat a conventional oven to 400°F. Lightly grease one 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, nonfat milk, applesauce, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Transfer the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake on the center rack for 35 minutes.
  • Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely before slicing.
