Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll

2 packets of cinnamon rolls |
4 large apples, peeled and diced |
1/2 cup of sugar |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg |
1 tablespoon of cornstarch |
1/2 cup caramel sauce (or salted caramel sauce if you prefer) |
Now that we have our ingredients sorted, it’s time to embark on the journey of making this culinary masterpiece.
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Spray an 8″ x 8″ x 2″ glass or ceramic dish with nonstick spray (I used a 7″ x 9″ x 2″ ceramic dish).
Step 2: Prepare the Apple Filling
- In a bowl, mix the diced apple cubes.
- Add sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg to coat the apples evenly.
Step 3: Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls
- Cut the cinnamon rolls into 1/2-inch strips.
- Roll them out on a floured work surface until they are fluffy.
- Sprinkle with flour to prevent sticking.
Step 4: Assemble the Layers
- Arrange the first layer of flattened cinnamon rolls on the bottom and sides of the dish. Press them to seal well.
- Spread half of the prepared apple filling over the cinnamon roll layer.
- Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of caramel sauce on top of the apples.
- Cover with another layer of cinnamon rolls.
- Repeat the process with the remaining apples and caramel sauce.
- Finally, cover with the remaining flattened cinnamon rolls.
Step 5: Bake to Perfection
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
- Allow the Apple Cinnamon Lasagna Roll to cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Drizzle with the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls.
- Serve and savor the heavenly flavors.
