keto Air Fryer Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey (preferably lean)
  • 1/4 cup almond flour (to keep it low-carb)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes while you prepare the meatballs.
  2. Make the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, almond flour, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything together thoroughly, but don’t overwork the meat to keep the meatballs tender.
  3. Form the Meatballs: Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs (about 1-1.5 inches in diameter). You should get around 12-14 meatballs depending on size.
  4. Air Fry the Meatballs: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the meatballs in the basket, making sure they don’t touch each other. Air fry at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and golden brown on the outside. You can shake the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  5. Serve: Once done, remove the meatballs from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute or two. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with a side of low-carb marinara sauce or your favorite keto-friendly dipping sauce.

Tips:

  • If you prefer more flavor, add Italian seasoning or a pinch of garlic powder.
  • For a crispy crust, lightly spray the meatballs with olive oil before air frying.
  • You can freeze uncooked meatballs for later use; just place them on a baking sheet and freeze until firm, then transfer to a freezer bag. To cook, air fry from frozen for 15-18 minutes.
