Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Bread Pudding:

  • 4 cups bread cubes (stale bread works best)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ cup raisins (optional)

For the Vanilla Sauce:

  • 1 cup heavy cream or milk
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions:

Making the Bread Pudding:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt, and melted butter.
  3. Add bread cubes and mix until well-coated. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  4. If using, mix in the raisins.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish that fits inside your air fryer.
  6. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.

Making the Vanilla Sauce:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream (or milk), sugar, and butter. Stir until heated.
  2. Add the cornstarch mixture and cook until it thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Serving:

  • Drizzle the warm vanilla sauce over the bread pudding.
  • Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream!
