cheese stuffed bagel bombs

Ingredients:
- For the Bagel Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the Cheese Filling:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- For Boiling:
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- Water (for boiling)
- For Topping:
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Bagel Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Make the Cheese Filling:
- In a small bowl, mix together mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley (if using). Set aside.
- Shape the Bagel Bombs:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it out with your hands.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each flattened dough circle.
- Carefully fold the edges of the dough around the cheese and pinch the dough to seal it into a ball.
- Place each stuffed dough ball onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Boil the Bagel Bombs:
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda.
- Gently drop the bagel bombs into the boiling water (2-3 at a time), and boil them for about 1 minute, turning them halfway through.
- Remove from the water and place them back on the baking sheet.
- Bake the Bagel Bombs:
- Brush the tops of the bagel bombs with melted butter.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning on top if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Let the bagel bombs cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
