Air Fryer Carrots
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of carrots (baby carrots or whole carrots, peeled and cut into sticks)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (like thyme or rosemary, optional)
Instructions:
- Prep the Carrots:
- If using whole carrots, peel them and cut them into uniform sticks (about 1/2 inch thick).
- If using baby carrots, you can leave them whole.
- Season the Carrots:
- In a large bowl, toss the carrots with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and herbs until evenly coated.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Carrots:
- Place the seasoned carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Cook the carrots at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
- Check for Doneness:
- After 15 minutes, check the carrots. They should be tender and caramelized. If you prefer them softer, continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Serve:
- Once done, remove the carrots from the air fryer and serve immediately. You can garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Tips:
- Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of your carrot sticks.
- For a bit of sweetness, you can add a sprinkle of brown sugar or honey before air frying.
