we have these GABA neurotransmitters that get released when we drink. It’s that calming sensation you feel with a stiff drink or two. It flourishes in ridiculous amounts. I looked up what foods will naturally arouse these neurotransmitters in the brain. Kimchi was on the list!
I’ve been self experimenting, and eating other foods related to engaging these GABA neurotransmitters and it’s really been helpful. If I go into a situation where I’ll be overstimulated or overwhelmed (like the other day in court) I will eat foods that produce this and it really helps me stay sober. And actually helps me feel empowered.
I love cooking, and using all sorts of colors but I find myself using kimchi a lot. It’s so easy to work with in making many meals so extra delicious.
EDIT
Look up dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, endorphins, GABA and see which neurotransmitters promote what- then look up that neurotransmitter in food, and go from there! It’s awesome!
