VEGAN FRIED TOFU SKIN SANDWICH

VEGAN FRIED TOFU SKIN SANDWICH

ngredients:
1 pack of tofu skin
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of black pepper
1 tsp of paprika
1 tsp of garlic powder
1 tsp of onion powder
1 tsp of dried thyme
1 tsp of dried basil
1 cup of plant-based milk (such as almond or soy milk)
1 cup of breadcrumbs
Vegetable oil, for frying
8 slices of bread
Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)
Instructions:
Cut the tofu skin into 8 pieces that are the same size as your bread slices.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and basil.
Pour the plant-based milk into a separate mixing bowl.
Spread the breadcrumbs onto a plate.
Dip each piece of tofu skin into the flour mixture, then into the milk, and finally into the breadcrumbs. Repeat until all pieces are coated.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
Once the oil is hot, add the coated tofu skins to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Toast the slices of bread in a toaster or on a pan.
Assemble the sandwich by placing two pieces of fried tofu skin on a slice of toast and topping with your desired toppings.
Repeat with the remaining slices of toast and enjoy!
This recipe is a tasty and crunchy vegan alternative to a traditional fried chicken sandwich. You can also add additional spices or seasonings to the breadcrumb mixture to suit your taste preferences.
