Weight Watchers Lettuce Bun Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (you can also use ground turkey or chicken)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or butter lettuce) for buns
  • Sliced reduced-fat cheese of your choice (such as cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack)
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Mustard or reduced-fat mayo (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Divide the ground beef into equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly coat it with cooking spray.
  3. Cook the burger patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare your lettuce leaves. Wash and dry them thoroughly, then use them as buns to hold your burger.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of reduced-fat cheese on each patty and let it melt slightly.
  6. Assemble your burgers by placing the cheese-topped patties on lettuce leaves. Top with sliced tomatoes, onions, pickles, and any other preferred toppings.
  7. Add a small amount of mustard or reduced-fat mayo if desired.
  8. Fold the lettuce leaves over the burger patties to create a “bun” and hold everything together.
