Weight Watchers Hamburger Goulash

Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef, browned and drained
2 large onions, chopped
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (16 ounce) package whole-grain elbow macaroni
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions:
In a large frying pan, sauté lean ground beef, red pepper flakes, and chopped onions until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.

Meanwhile, in another pan, cook whole-grain elbow macaroni in boiling salted water until tender. Set aside until almost ready to serve.

Once the beef and onions are finished cooking, add the canned crushed tomatoes and approximately 1/2 cup water. Also, add garlic powder, black pepper, chili powder, and mix well.

Simmer for about 20 minutes; then add the cooked whole-grain elbow macaroni noodles and mix well when ready to serve. If you add the macaroni noodles too soon, they may overcook and become mushy.
