Weight Watchers Cinnamon Sugar Baked Donuts

Ingredients:

For the Donuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a standard donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients:

  • In another bowl, whisk together the applesauce, Greek yogurt, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

5. Fill Donut Pan:

  • Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with the corner snipped off. Pipe the batter evenly into the donut pan.

6. Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.

7. Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • While the donuts are baking, mix together the sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl.

8. Coat Donuts:

  • Once the donuts are out of the oven and still warm, dip each one into the melted butter and then into the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating each donut evenly.

9. Serve:

  • Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before serving.
