Tennessee Onions

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 large sweet onions (Vidalia or any mild variety)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Onions:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and slice the onions into thick rings (about ½ inch). Separate the rings gently.
  2. Layer the Goodness:
    In a baking dish, arrange the onion rings in layers. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the onions.
  3. Season it Right:
    Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and black pepper over the onions. Toss them gently to coat.
  4. Cheese Overload:
    Cover the onions with mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan. Make sure every onion ring gets a cheesy touch!
  5. Bake to Perfection:
    Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until the onions are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  6. Garnish & Serve:
    Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a pop of color. Serve hot and enjoy this gooey, savory delight!
