Instructions:

Preparing the Filling:

  1. Cook the Steak:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the thinly sliced steak and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
    • Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed and sauté the onions and bell peppers until they are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Combine Steak and Vegetables:
    • Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the onions and peppers.
    • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and dried oregano (if using). Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  4. Add the Cheese:
    • Reduce the heat to low. Lay the cheese slices or shredded cheese over the steak mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Assembling the Wraps:

  1. Prepare the Lettuce Wraps:
    • Wash and pat dry the lettuce leaves. If they are too large or too small, trim them to fit your preference.
  2. Assemble the Wraps:
    • Spoon the Philly cheesesteak mixture onto the center of each lettuce leaf.
    • Top with avocado slices and pickled jalapeños if using.
  3. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives if desired.
    • Fold the lettuce over the filling to create a wrap and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Steak: If you don’t have ribeye or sirloin, you can use other cuts of steak, but make sure they are thinly sliced for the best texture.
  • Cheese: Provolone is traditional, but feel free to use other cheeses like cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella.
  • Vegetables: You can also add mushrooms or other veggies to the filling if you like.

These Philly Cheesesteak Steak Wraps are a great low-carb alternative to the classic sandwich, and they’re perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. Enjoy!
