Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef or cook the thinly sliced steak until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Add Vegetables: Add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season: Stir in the salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well.
  5. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and heavy cream. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  6. Combine Everything: Add the cream cheese mixture to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef and vegetables.
  7. Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Let the casserole cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
