Philly Cheese Steak Casserole Recipe

Ingredients (Makes 6 servings)
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or ground turkey for fewer points)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 oz reduced-fat cream cheese
- ½ cup low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded reduced-fat provolone cheese
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or skim milk)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a casserole dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, eggs, and almond milk until smooth.
- Pour the egg mixture over the beef and veggies, stirring to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to the casserole dish. Sprinkle mozzarella and provolone cheese on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
