ONION CAKE

Materials:

2.5 cups wheat flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon Sesame oil
1 glass of hot water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 cups finely chopped green onion
8 tbsp. vegetable oil for lubrication +

Preparation:

Mix 2.5 tbsp. flour and 1 tsp. salt in a large bowl. Add sesame oil and 1 glass of hot water and mix well.
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead, adding more flour as needed to prevent it from sticking to your hands. Knead for ~5 minutes, cover with stretch film and leave at room temperature for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces (keep closed), rolling each out on a lightly floured surface as thin as possible (about 25cm in diameter). Apply ~2 tablespoons of oil. Sprinkle butter, onion, salt on it, wrap it in a roll, and then roll this roll like a Cinnabon bun, cover it with stretch film and do the same with the remaining pieces, leave it at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Take a “doughnut” and roll it out (~10-12cm in diameter) on a lightly floured surface (keep remaining pieces covered). Repeat, stacking remaining pieces on top of each other and separating with parchment paper.
Heat 1 tbsp. vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry until golden on both sides (total cooking time ~8-10 minutes)
