Millionaire Shortbread. Delish
Recipe
Shortbread
300g – 1 1/3 Cups of salted butter
180g – 3/4 Cup + 2tbsp of caster sugar
500g – 4 Cups of plain flour
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Bake for 35-40 minutes at 150C Conventional oven
Caramel
225g – 1 Cup of butter
65g – 1/3 Cup of White sugar
120g – 7 tbsp of Golden syrup
1 1/2 cans of sweetened condensed milk. 1 can is 14oz or 396g
You can substitute the Golden syrup with honey or corn syrup or have s go at making some
Heat the caramel on a medium heat until it develops a golden amber color or until it reaches between 107C/225F – 112C/233f
The longer you simmer it for over 112C the harder it will become once it cools down.
I used 400g of melted milk chocolate to go on top. Dark Chocolate also works well. The adults prefer that
