Dry:

  • 1Β½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1Β½ tsp baking powder
  • ΒΌ tsp salt

Wet:

  • Β½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Β½ cup (120ml) milk

For Chocolate Batter:

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp milk or hot water
  • Optional: 1 tbsp sugar (if you like sweeter chocolate)

1. Prep Oven & Pan:

  • Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  • Grease and line a 9×5 inch loaf pan or a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. Cream Butter & Sugar:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 mins).

4. Add Eggs & Vanilla:

  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.

5. Add Milk & Flour Mix:

  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture in 2-3 additions, mixing just until combined. Don’t overmix.

6. Make Chocolate Batter:

  • In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder and 1 tbsp milk to form a smooth paste.

7. Create the Marble:
