
π° Marble Cake Recipe (Loaf or 9-inch pan)
π Ingredients:
Dry:
- 1Β½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1Β½ tsp baking powder
- ΒΌ tsp salt
Wet:
- Β½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Β½ cup (120ml) milk
For Chocolate Batter:
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp milk or hot water
- Optional: 1 tbsp sugar (if you like sweeter chocolate)
π©βπ³ Instructions:
1. Prep Oven & Pan:
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Grease and line a 9×5 inch loaf pan or a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Cream Butter & Sugar:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2β3 mins).
4. Add Eggs & Vanilla:
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
5. Add Milk & Flour Mix:
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture in 2-3 additions, mixing just until combined. Don’t overmix.
6. Make Chocolate Batter:
- In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder and 1 tbsp milk to form a smooth paste.
- Transfer about β of the cake batter to the cocoa mix and stir to combine.
7. Create the Marble:
- Add spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter alternately into your pan.
- Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the batters together a few times (donβt overdo it).
8. Bake:
- Bake for 45β55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool fully.
π Optional Glaze (for topping):
Chocolate glaze:
- Β½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1β2 tbsp milk
- Mix until smooth and drizzle over cooled cake.
