Manicotti
1pt Manicotti Super delicious and so excited I have another low point dinner. I use the egg wraps zero point, homemade tomato sauce zero points, fat-free cottage cheese zero points, shredded craft mozzarella cheese one point and one egg zero points and Parmesan garlic seasoning zero points. Baked at 400 for about 20 minutes. My recipe (feel free to modify as you see fit)
- Yielded 5 manicottis 1 ww point
- Ingredients:
- 12 oz fat free cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup of fat free kraft mozzarella
- 2 tablespoons of parmesan garlic seasoning
- 1 egg
- 5 egg white wraps (I swear these taste just like pasta) Most grocery stores sell this near the eggs or amazon
- Fresh tomatoe sauce (home made fresh tomatoes, garlic and onions and parsley blend in blender and then heat up)
- Instruction:
- Mix all ingredients then place cheese mixture in egg wrap and roll
- Bake at 400 for around 20 mins or until heated thru.
This Manicotti recipe is a true testament to the creativity and ingenuity that can be found in the world of low-point dinners. With a mere 1 Weight Watchers point per manicotti, it’s a dish that not only satisfies cravings but also fits seamlessly into a healthy eating plan. By making smart ingredient choices and clever substitutions, this recipe manages to deliver all the flavors and textures of traditional manicotti while keeping the points low and the satisfaction high.
The key to the success of this recipe lies in its thoughtful selection of ingredients. By using fat-free cottage cheese as the base of the filling, you get a creamy and rich texture without the added fat and calories. Combined with a modest amount of fat-free Kraft mozzarella and a flavorful Parmesan garlic seasoning, the filling becomes irresistibly savory and delicious.
But perhaps the most ingenious element of this recipe is the use of egg white wraps as a substitute for traditional pasta shells. Not only are these wraps low in points, but they also provide a satisfyingly chewy texture that mimics the experience of eating pasta without the extra calories. Plus, they’re incredibly versatile and can be found in most grocery stores or online, making them an accessible option for anyone looking to lighten up their favorite dishes.
To assemble the manicotti, simply mix together the cheese filling, spoon it onto the egg wraps, and roll them up into neat little packages. Then, bake them in a homemade tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes, garlic, onions, and parsley until heated through and bubbly. The result? A comforting and flavorful dish that’s as satisfying to make as it is to eat.
Whether you’re following the Weight Watchers program or simply looking for a delicious and nutritious dinner option, this 1-point Manicotti is sure to become a staple in your recipe rotation. With its clever ingredient choices, bold flavors, and satisfying texture, it proves that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing taste or enjoyment.
