Lemon pepper wings
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split at joints, tips removed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest (from about 2 lemons)
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for some heat)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for extra richness)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, lemon zest, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Place the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl and pour the lemon pepper seasoning over them. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they’re not touching each other too closely.
- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- If desired, you can brush the wings with melted butter during the last 10 minutes of baking for extra richness.
- Once the wings are cooked through and crispy, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the lemon pepper wings hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top. Enjoy!
