KFC-style Coleslaw at home

Ingredients:
- 4 cups finely shredded cabbage (about 1/2 medium head of cabbage)
- 1/4 cup grated carrot (optional, but adds color)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (or white vinegar)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp mustard powder (optional for an extra kick)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cabbage: Finely shred the cabbage using a sharp knife or a food processor. If you’re using carrots, grate them finely as well.
- Mix the Veggies: In a large bowl, add the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped onion (if you’re using it). Toss everything together to combine.
- Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and mustard powder until smooth and well combined.
- Combine: Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to coat everything evenly.
- Chill: Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve: Enjoy your homemade, KFC-style coleslaw as a side dish with fried chicken, sandwiches, or anything you like!
Tip: For the best texture and flavor, let it sit in the fridge for a few hours or overnight
