KFC ORIGINAL SECRET CHICKEN RECIPE

KFC-Style Air Fryer Chicken (Inspired)

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, cut into 8–10 pieces
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 teaspoons paprika

(Optional but recommended: salt and black pepper to taste)


Preparation

  1. Prepare the chicken
    • Cut the whole chicken into pieces (2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 drumsticks, 2 wings).
    • Pat the chicken completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the flour
    • In a large bowl, mix:
      • Flour
      • Paprika
      • (Optional salt & pepper)
  3. Egg wash
    • Beat the eggs in a separate bowl.

Breading (Key to Crispy Coating)

  1. Dip each chicken piece into the beaten eggs.
  2. Coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour.
  3. For extra crunch:
    • Dip back into egg → flour again.
  4. Place breaded chicken on a rack or plate and let rest 10 minutes (helps coating stick).

Air Fryer Cooking

  1. Preheat air fryer
    • 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare basket
    • Lightly spray basket with oil (important for crispiness).
  3. Cook chicken
    • Place chicken in a single layer (do not overcrowd).
    • Lightly spray tops with oil.
  4. Cooking time
    • Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes total
    • Flip halfway (around 12–15 minutes)
    • Spray lightly with oil after flipping
  5. Internal temperature
    • Chicken is done at 165°F (74°C) internal temp.

Extra Crispy Finish (Optional)

  • Increase temperature to 400°F (205°C) for the last 3–5 minutes.

Serving Tips

  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
  • Great with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or biscuits.
  • Tastes even better when eaten fresh and hot 🍗
