Keto Smash Burger bowls foil packs
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)
- 4 oz cheddar cheese (sliced or shredded)
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 4-6 pickles (optional)
- Keto-friendly condiments like mustard or mayonnaise
Instructions:
- Preheat the Grill or Oven: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (or set your oven to 400°F/200°C).
- Prepare the Foil Packs: Cut 4 large sheets of aluminum foil. Drizzle a little olive oil on each sheet to prevent sticking.
- Make the Smash Burgers: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a ball and place on the foil sheet. Use the back of a spatula to “smash” each ball into a patty. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add Onions: Place a few slices of onion around the patties.
- Cook the Burgers: Fold up the sides of the foil to create a bowl, then seal the top loosely, leaving some room for steam. Grill or bake the foil packs for about 15-20 minutes or until the burgers are cooked through.
- Add Cheese: Open the foil packs carefully, and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each burger. Close the foil again and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Assemble the Bowls: Once the burgers are done, open the foil packs. Layer each bowl with baby spinach, smashed burger, melted cheese, avocado slices, and pickles if desired.
- Serve: Add your favorite keto-friendly condiments, like mustard or mayo, and enjoy your tasty, juicy keto smash burger bowl!
Tips:
- For extra flavor, add a drizzle of sugar-free BBQ sauce or hot sauce on top.
- You can swap out the spinach for lettuce or any low-carb greens of your choice.
