Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground Italian sausage (or ground beef)
- 1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free, low-carb)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the Ground Sausage:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- Spread the cooked sausage evenly on the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the sausage, spreading it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the sauce.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices, black olives, and sliced mushrooms (if using) over the cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper evenly over the top.
- Bake:
- Cover the casserole with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
