Keto Hot Dog Buns

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz cream cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat and Prepare:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, psyllium husk powder, and salt.
  3. Melt Cheese:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese and cream cheese.
    • Microwave on high for about 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and smooth. Stir halfway through to ensure even melting.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
    • Add the melted cheese mixture to the dough and mix until it forms a uniform dough. This might require some kneading with your hands, as the dough can be quite sticky.
  5. Form the Buns:
    • Divide the dough into 4-6 equal portions (depending on the size of the buns you want).
    • Shape each portion into a hot dog bun shape and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  7. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the buns to cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving with your favorite hot dog or sausage….
