🥩 High-Protein, Low-Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

All the flavor of a classic cheesesteak — no roll, extra protein, and keto-friendly.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 6)

  • 1½ lbs thinly sliced sirloin steak (or shaved beef)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 oz light cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

🔥 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook 3–4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté veggies: In the same pan, cook peppers, onions, and mushrooms until soft (about 5–7 minutes).
  4. Make it creamy: Lower heat and stir in cream cheese and Greek yogurt until smooth.
  5. Combine: Add beef back to skillet and mix well.
  6. Assemble: Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  7. Top with cheese: Sprinkle provolone and mozzarella evenly over the top.
  8. Bake 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Optional: Broil 2–3 minutes for golden top.
