Glazed Air Fryer Donuts

For the Donuts:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cooking spray

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Donut Dough:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Shape the Donuts:
    • Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
    • Use a donut cutter or two round cutters (one larger and one smaller) to cut out donut shapes. You can also use the small cutter to cut out donut holes.
  4. Air Fry the Donuts:
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
    • Place the donuts in the basket, ensuring they do not touch (you may need to cook in batches).
    • Air fry the donuts at 350°F (175°C) for 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Flip them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  5. Make the Glaze:
    • While the donuts are cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  6. Glaze the Donuts:
    • Once the donuts are done, allow them to cool slightly.
    • Dip each donut into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack to set.

  • For a chocolate glaze, you can add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the powdered sugar mixture.
  • You can also add sprinkles or other toppings to the glaze before it sets for a fun variation.
  • Enjoy the donuts fresh for the best texture and flavor.
