Glazed Air Fryer Donuts
Ingredients:
For the Donuts:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cooking spray
For the Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Donut Dough:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Shape the Donuts:
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness.
- Use a donut cutter or two round cutters (one larger and one smaller) to cut out donut shapes. You can also use the small cutter to cut out donut holes.
- Air Fry the Donuts:
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the donuts in the basket, ensuring they do not touch (you may need to cook in batches).
- Air fry the donuts at 350°F (175°C) for 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Flip them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- Make the Glaze:
- While the donuts are cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
- Glaze the Donuts:
- Once the donuts are done, allow them to cool slightly.
- Dip each donut into the glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the glazed donuts on a wire rack to set.
Tips:
- For a chocolate glaze, you can add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the powdered sugar mixture.
- You can also add sprinkles or other toppings to the glaze before it sets for a fun variation.
- Enjoy the donuts fresh for the best texture and flavor.
