Garlic potato pancakes filled with melted cheese
Ingredients:
500 g potatoes (boiled and mashed)
1/2 teaspoon salt
150 g wheat flour (plus some for dusting)
1 egg
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped or pressed through a press)
150 g yellow cheese (e.g. mozzarella or Gouda – easily available in Poland)
Fresh parsley (for decoration, optional)
2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
Preparation steps:
Preparation of the dough:
Mash the boiled potatoes until smooth. Add salt , egg, garlic and flour Knead everything into a soft, elastic dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour
Form the pancakes:
Divide the dough into equal parts and form small balls. Flatten each ball into a cake, place a piece of cheese
in the middle and carefully seal the edges, creating a pocket. Gently flatten it, creating a round cake
Fry:
Heat the butter
in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the burgers on both sides until golden brown – about 3-4 minutes per side. Make sure the heat is not too high, so that the cheese inside has time to mel
Application:
Once the pancakes are cooked, place them on a plate and sprinkle with chopped parsley
for a fresh taste. You can serve them with garlic sauce
or sour cream
Serving suggestion:
Delicious with a green salad or pickled cucumber for dinner, but they are also great as a snack!
