Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1–2 tbsp milk (if dough is too dry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar
    • In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla
    • Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Add dry ingredients
    • Stir in whole wheat flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
    • Add a little milk if the dough feels too dry.
  5. Shape cookies
    • Roll small balls and flatten slightly with a fork or your palm.
  6. Bake
    • Bake 10–12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Cool
    • Let cookies cool on a rack before serving.

Tips

  • Add chopped nuts or dark chocolate chips for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle a little cinnamon for a warm taste.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
