ngredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Additional ground cumin for topping (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cumin. Mix well.
- Add the grated cheese to the dry ingredients and mix until evenly distributed.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the melted butter and milk. Stir until a dough forms. If the dough is too dry, you can add a little more milk, a tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes smooth.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- Place the dough balls in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them to allow for expansion.
- Brush the tops of the dough balls with beaten egg and sprinkle with additional ground cumin, if desired.
- Air fry the cumin cheese buns for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Once cooked, remove the buns from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
