🥔 Crispy Potato Squares (Air Fryer)

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon gold)
  • 1½ tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional extras:
    • chili flakes
    • rosemary or thyme
    • grated parmesan
    • onion powder

Instructions

  1. Prep the potatoes
    • Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into even cubes/squares (about 1–1.5 cm).
    • Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch.
    • Pat very dry (this = crispiness).
  2. Season
    • Toss potatoes with olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, pepper, and any extras.
  3. Air fry
    • Preheat air fryer to 200°C / 400°F.
    • Spread potatoes in a single layer (don’t overcrowd).
    • Air fry 10 minutes, shake/flip.
    • Cook another 8–12 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. Final crisp boost (optional but elite)
    • Sprinkle parmesan or extra salt in the last 2 minutes.

  • Dry potatoes = crunch
  • Don’t overcrowd
  • Shake halfway
  • Russet potatoes = crispiest
