Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets
Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 block extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained
2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs (use gluten-free breadcrumbs if desired)
Cooking spray or olive oil, for greasing
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Grease the parchment paper with cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil.
Cut the pressed and drained tofu into bite-sized nuggets or strips.
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the soy sauce or tamari, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper to create the marinade.
Gently dip each tofu nugget into the marinade, ensuring it’s coated on all sides.
In another shallow bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
Roll the marinated tofu nuggets in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs to the tofu.
Place the coated tofu nuggets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Lightly spray the tops of the nuggets with cooking spray or drizzle with a bit of olive oil. This will help them become crispy in the oven.
Bake the tofu nuggets in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through the baking time, until they are golden brown and crispy.
Once baked, remove the tofu nuggets from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
