Ingredients

  • 2–3 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon gold work best)
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

Optional seasonings (choose what you like):

  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, or oregano)

Instructions

1. Prep the Potatoes

  • Wash and scrub potatoes (peel if desired).
  • Slice into ¼-inch (½ cm) thick rounds for best crispiness.

2. Soak (Important for Crispiness)

  • Soak potato slices in cold water for 20–30 minutes.
  • Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels.

3. Season

  • In a bowl, toss potato slices with:
    • Olive oil
    • Salt
    • Any optional seasonings

Air Fryer Cooking

  1. Preheat air fryer
    • 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Cook
    • Arrange potato slices in a single layer (slight overlap is okay).
    • Air fry for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway.
  3. Extra Crispy Finish
    • Increase temperature to 400°F (205°C) and cook 3–5 more minutes.

Tips for Maximum Crisp

✔ Don’t overcrowd the basket
✔ Shake or flip halfway
✔ Dry potatoes thoroughly
✔ Use russet potatoes for the crispiest result
