Crispy Air Fryer Potato Chip Chicken Goujons

For when you fancy some crispy homemade chicken with minimal effort, this Crispy Air Fryer Potato Chip Chicken ticks every box and the whole family will love it and it’s ready in less than 20 mins.


  • 300g/10.5oz of skinless boneless chicken breast, sliced into about 8 small fingers
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 28g/1oz of ready salted potato chips 
  • ½ teaspoon of paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon of onion powder
  • cooking oil spray
  • salt to season if needed


  1. Add the potato chips to a sandwich bag with the paprika, garlic powder and onion powder and bash with a rolling pin till fine crumbs.
  2. Add the potato chips to a shallow dish.
  3. Preheat Air fryer to 200c/400f while you make the chicken fingers
  4. Using a fork, take a chicken finger and dip in the egg, then roll in the potato chip mixture to coat.
  5. Repeat with other strips. 
  6. Remove basket from air fryer and add the strips. Give a light mist of cooking oil spray
  7. and cooked for 8-10 mins, carefully turning over half way through.
  8. Serve with your choice of sides.

  10. Different brands of potato chips, can vary in cals, so double check the ones you use.
  11. use different flavoured potato chips to add to the flavour.
  12. If using an actifry I recommend removing the paddle for these or use one of these mesh trays.
  13. If cooking in the oven, place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and cook at 200c/400f for about 15-20 mins until golden and crisp.
