Creamy Peas and Noodles

Ingredients:
- 5 cups uncooked egg noodles
- ¼ cup butter, cubed
- 1 cup half-and-half cream
- 1 (10 oz) package frozen peas
- 2½ cups vegetable broth
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried onion
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- Toast the Noodles: In a large skillet, combine the cubed butter and vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the butter is melted and begins to bubble, stir in the uncooked egg noodles. Toast them for 2–3 minutes until they turn lightly browned and emit a nutty aroma.
- Simmer with Peas: Next, add the frozen peas to the skillet, followed by vegetable broth, half-and-half cream, onion powder, dried onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients. Cover the skillet and allow the mixture to simmer for about 12 minutes, or until the noodles are fully cooked and tender.
- Add the Cheese: Remove the skillet from the heat. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the noodles. Cover again and let it sit for about 3 minutes so that the cheese melts beautifully into the dish.
- Serve: Give everything a gentle stir to mix the melted cheese throughout the creamy noodles. Spoon into bowls and serve warm for a cozy, comforting meal.
