🥩🍄 Creamy Beef Stroganoff (Easy One-Pan Recipe)
⭐ Ingredients:
For the beef:
- 1 pound round steak, thinly sliced into strips
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the sauce:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional but classic!)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ¾ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for lighter option)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tsp Dijon mustard (adds depth)
To serve:
- Cooked egg noodles, pasta, mashed potatoes, or rice
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
🍳 Instructions:
1. Season & Coat the Beef:
- In a bowl, mix the steak strips with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and flour until evenly coated.
2. Sear the Beef:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add beef strips in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned (work in batches if needed).
- Remove beef from pan and set aside.
3. Sauté Veggies:
- In the same pan, melt butter.
- Add onions (and mushrooms, if using), and cook until softened and golden—about 5–7 minutes.
4. Make the Sauce:
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream (and Dijon mustard, if using). Don’t boil after adding sour cream or it may curdle.
5. Combine:
- Return the beef (and any juices) to the pan.
- Simmer gently for 5 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
6. Serve:
- Spoon the creamy beef stroganoff over your choice of noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
