Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken or seafood broth
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ tsp Old Bay seasoning (or to taste)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
- ½ cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- ½ cup lump crab meat
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat butter and olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in tomato paste, Old Bay, smoked paprika, and cayenne. Cook for another minute.
- Pour in broth and bring to a simmer. Add cream cheese and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in heavy cream and let it gently simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and crab meat, cooking just until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
