  • Β½ tsp paprika
  • Β½ tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: 1 tsp thyme or rosemary

For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes

  • 2–3 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ΒΌ cup milk (or cream)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1–2 tbsp sour cream or Greek yogurt for extra creaminess

βœ… Step 1: Prep Potatoes

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into chunks.
  2. Boil in salted water for 12–15 minutes, until fork-tender.
  3. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
    (Add sour cream if using.)
  4. Keep warm while steak cooks.

βœ… Step 2: Season the Steak

  1. Pat steak dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. Let sit 5 minutes to absorb flavors.

βœ… Step 3: Caramelize Onions (Air Fryer)

  1. Toss sliced onions with olive oil, salt, and a pinch of pepper.
  2. Air fry at 190Β°C / 375Β°F for 10 minutes, shaking halfway.
  3. Add garlic and cook 2 more minutes until golden.

Tip: If your air fryer basket is small, caramelize onions in a skillet while steak cooks.


βœ… Step 4: Cook the Ribeye in Air Fryer

  1. Preheat air fryer to 200Β°C / 400Β°F.
  2. Place steak in the basket.
  3. Cook:
    • 8–10 min for medium-rare
    • 10–12 min for medium
    • 12–14 min for medium-well
  4. Flip halfway through.

Internal temp guide:

  • 52Β°C / 125Β°F = rare
  • 57Β°C / 135Β°F = medium-rare
  • 63Β°C / 145Β°F = medium
  • 68Β°C / 155Β°F = medium-well

  1. Remove steak and let rest 5–7 minutes.
  2. Plate mashed potatoes.
  3. Top with caramelized onions.
  4. Slice steak against the grain and place on top.

If you want a sauce like restaurant style:

  • Add 1 tbsp butter to the onions
  • Pour in ΒΌ cup beef broth
  • Stir until slightly thickened
  • Drizzle over steak and potatoes
