- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 teaspoons water (optional, for thickening)
For the Puff Pastry
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 egg + 1 tablespoon milk or water (for egg wash)
For the Topping
- ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Optional: powdered sugar, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Apple Filling
- Peel, core, and slice apples into thin wedges
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat
- Add apples, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until apples soften
- If needed, stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer 1–2 minutes until thickened
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly
2. Prepare the Puff Pastry
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface
- Cut into 8 rectangles or squares
- Place half on a parchment-lined baking sheet
3. Assemble the Pastries
- Spoon cooled apple filling onto pastry
- Drizzle with caramel sauce
- Top with another piece of pastry (or fold to form triangles)
- Seal edges with a fork
- Brush tops with egg wash
4. Bake
- Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed
- Let cool slightly before serving

- Drizzle with extra caramel sauce
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired
